EA Sport’s new edition of the biggest football simulation series, FIFA, has been available for the past few weeks now.
While some hardcore gamers have chosen to grind out rewards and build their Road To Glory teams on FIFA 21 Ultimate Team.
There are some who choose the quicker route, by pumping loads of hard earned sweaty cash, sometimes credit lines and the odd kidney into the game, to get a powerful team quickly!
Enter Paul Merson
Someone who needs know introduction, is Paul Merson, the ex-England International and Football pundit of the beautiful game.
Recently some gamers have tweeted about a God Squad floating about Division Rivals on PlayStation 4 called “The Mersonaries”. This has raised some suspicions that it might be Paul Merson’s team.
We caught up with Paul, “You bet your life it’s my team mate! Seriously we can bet if you like!? Go on lad take the bet! I will give you 10 to 1 odds you melt.”
It’s Not Gambling
While the African Football Expert refused to take the bet, we pressed Merson as to why he has taking up gaming, “It’s not Gambling!”
We restated, “No Mr. Merson we said gaming”.
Paul sighed and continued, “Crikey! I thought you were on my case for a minute, Jesus everyone is telling me buying FUT packs is gambling? They are just sore losers. It really isn’t.”
“Ok! Sure it’s additive as fuck, opening pack after pack, watching the lights and all… And sure! I had to pour in about 5000 quid to get Eto’o, but it is totally worth it, his handling is phenomenal and I have scored a shit ton of goals with him. It makes me fucking great mate!”
Paul concluded, ” You see with addiction and gambling, there is no feeling good after, once you gamble the money is gone and it feels shit. I don’t! That is the difference!”
